NEW CHATEAUX FINISHES FROM FIELDSTONE CABINETRY POSTED: MAR 10, 2010 Fieldstone Cabinetry expands its Chateaux Specialty Finish palette to include Chateaux Brittany, Chateaux Cappuccino, Chateaux Nutmeg, Chateaux Oregano and Chateaux Toffee. Chateaux takes distressing to the next level. Door and drawer header edges are softened and given added dimension through a glaze technique called "padding". Padding concentrates a darker color on the door's outer edges then softens the color into the main stain area. Then speckling is applied. Patina is accomplished with rounded corners, worn edges, knife cuts, worm holes, rasping and dips hand-applied to the drawer headers and doors and throughout the cabinetry.
